PEEK is a high temperature and high performance thermoplastic special engineering
plastic. It has good mechanical properties and chemical resistance, wear resistance,
water solution and other properties. It has a light weight, good self lubrication
performance. Because of its excellent processing performance, it can fill carbon fiber,
molybdenum disulfide and so on to further improve the lubrication and mechanical
strength. The wide application space of PEEK engineering plastics involves the high-tech
industrial fields such as aviation, machinery, electronics, chemical industry, automobile
and so on. It can make high required mechanical parts, such as gear, bearing, piston ring,
support ring, seal ring (letter), valve plate, wear-resistant ring, etc. The outstanding
performance of PEEK materials is mainly manifested in the following aspects:
PEEK has higher glass transition temperature and melting point (334 C), which is one of
the reasons why it can be used reliably in heat resistant applications. The load heat
distortion temperature is as high as 316 C, and the continuous use temperature is 260 C.
PEEK is a plastic with both toughness and rigidity and balance. In particular, its excellent
fatigue resistance to alternating stresses is the most outstanding in all plastics and
comparable to alloy materials.
PEEK has outstanding slip characteristics in all plastics, and is suitable for strict use of low
friction coefficient and wear resistance. In particular, carbon fiber and graphite each
account for a certain proportion, and the self-lubricating property of the modified PEEK
is better.
PEEK has excellent chemical resistance. In ordinary chemicals, only concentrated sulfuric
acid can be dissolved or destroyed, and its corrosion resistance is similar to that of nickel
steel.
PEEK is a very stable polymer. 1.45MM thick sample can achieve the highest flame
retardant standard without any flame retardant.
PEEK has good peeling resistance, so it can be made into thin wires or electromagnetic
wires, and can be used in harsh conditions.
The ability to resist gamma irradiation is strong, exceeding the best radiation resistance
of polystyrene in general resin. It can be used as a high performance wire that can maintain
good insulation when gamma radiation dose reaches 1100Mrad.
PEEK and its composites are not affected by the chemical effects of water and high
pressure water vapor. The products made with this material can still maintain excellent
properties in the continuous use of high temperature and high pressure water.
